Event

[SIP, HS-SIP] Ethics for Scientists

Speaker: Natasha Hill & Lori Conlan, OITE

About this event

Research Ethics is at the foundation of everything we do in the scientific endeavor, and training in Responsible Conduct of Research is an essential component of your development as a scientist as you train here at the NIH. The news is full of reports about scientific misconduct and its profound consequences. OITE is offering this course specifically for summer students to ensure that you have the foundation and information to conduct rigorous and ethical research during your time here and beyond.

This course will use lectures, group discussions, and case studies to explore the principles of research ethics.

Date

Jul 01, 2024

Time

10am - 12pm

Location

Building 35, Room 610

Intended Audience

Summer Interns, High School Summer Interns

How to attend

This is a hybrid event, held in person on the NIH Bethesda campus. We strongly encourage local participants to join us in person as there are substantial benefits to networking with colleagues, taking a walk across campus, and getting out of the research space. We also encourage trainees and fellows on other campuses to gather for “watch parties” for the same reasons.

Individuals who need interpreting services and/or other reasonable accommodations to participate in this event should contact OITE at oite@nih.gov or the NIH Interpreting Office directly at nih@ainterpreting.com.
