The Department of Biology and the Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology (BBMB) is now seeking applicants with expertise in molecular Biology for a joint tenure-track position beginning in August 2027 at the rank of assistant professor. Applicants must have a Ph.D. at the start of this position.
This assistant professor will be expected to teach our standard load of five courses. Courses may include Genetics lectures and labs, as well as courses in molecular biology and introductory biology, plus time dedicated to mentoring senior students as they prepare their senior theses. Candidate will also be expected to develop an elective course in their respective specialty area for students across Biology, BBMB, and the College's Brain, Behavior, and Cognition Program (BBAC).
The Biology Department is excited about the development of our new introductory course series aimed at engaging and supporting our enthusiastic pool of life science majors. Since we are committed to integrating research experiences into our undergraduate curriculum, we are particularly interested in candidates who can develop a research program which can offer research opportunities to interested students.
The College further provides a generous pre-tenure sabbatical program and professional development support for both research and teaching. As such, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential to sustain an active scholarly research agenda and participation in faculty responsibilities including mentorship and grant writing.

Qualifications
Applicants must hold a PhD in ecology, biology, or a related field and have demonstrated experience working as a researcher and educator.
