The Health Communication and Behavior Unit, part of the Immersive Simulation Program within the Social and Behavioral Research Branch of the NIH National Human Genome Research Institute, is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Susan Persky.
About the position
Our lab's research sits at the intersection of behavioral science, emerging technology, and precision health. We study psychological, behavioral, and clinical processes relevant to the integration of genomics and other health technologies in clinical and community settings, with the goal of supporting effective, equitable, evidence-based approaches to disease prevention, decision-making, and health communication.
Importantly, our lab applies immersive and other emerging technologies to pursue this transdisciplinary work. Research areas of prospective fellows may include:
- Psychological and behavioral responses to genomic and other biomarker-based health information
- Implications of integrating genomics and emerging health technologies into clinical and community environments
- Computational approaches involving physiological data, biospecimens, wearable device data, and other objective or multimodal data sources for prevention and health decision-making
- Evaluation of precision health communication approaches
