The Rotman Lab, Liver and Energy Metabolism Section, is now seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join our team.
About the position
The Liver & Energy Metabolism Section studies the pathogenesis of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and steatohepatitis (MASH, previously termed NAFLD/NASH). Specifically, we focus on the metabolic flexibility which occurs when the liver rapidly transitions between fasted and fed states, and how impairment to that flexibility may be relevant to disease pathogenesis.
This prospective post-doctoral fellow will study the response of hepatic lipid droplets to the transition between fasted and fed states to determine how the state response contributes to the pathogenesis of MASLD and MASH. Our laboratory tools to do so include cellular models, transgenic animals, human samples, clinical data, and cutting edge technologies such as multi-omics.
