Staff Scientist (FTE)

The Staff Scientist will be responsible for designing and conducting research in areas pertaining to understanding of molecular, cellular, and immunological mechanisms that influence the pathogenesis of spondyloarthritis, including the role of HLA-B27 and other predisposing genetic and environmental factors. Emphasis is on:

1. Mechanisms that influence the expression and function of risk genes, including aberrant properties of HLA-B27
2. The host immunological response including genes that are aberrantly expressed during pathogenesis and their biological consequences.

The incumbent will have a major role in assisting the PTRB Chief in project management, training Post-doctoral and Post-baccalaureate Fellows, and preparing data for presentation and publication. Excellent written and oral (English) communication skills are required.

Salary is commensurate with research experience and accomplishments.

The successful individual must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. with at least 5 years of postdoctoral experience.

The individual should also have expertise in multi-dimensional flow cytometry and analysis of primary human and rodent immune cells.

Proficiency in molecular biology skills and next generation sequencing techniques and analysis, including RNA-Seq, single cell RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, ChIP-Seq, and CRISPR screening are highly desired.
